8 Network Performance Analyzer Reference
Backup Domain Controller
A test is performed on the Backup Domain Controller (BDC)
which acts as a backup for the PDC and provides fault
tolerance.
Test setup
If Active Discovery does not detect the BDC-under-test, it can be
manually added. The name or address of the BDC is typed in at the
first setup screen. The next setup screen provides a list of
measurements performed during the test. Select a measurement
from the list and press Edit to view and modify the thresholds
used to rate the performance of the measurement.
The following measurements are taken during the test.
Name Lookup The request or response time for converting a name
into an address.
PING Response The time taken to perform an ICMP Echo test on
the server.
